Questions is a verbal drinking game. Think ‘Truth or Dare,’ minus the dare part!
Sip Score: **** (Medium-High Sipping game)
Game Description: Questions is a good rapid- fire game for playing quickly and in situations when you don’t have time to play something much more elaborate. It takes a short amount of time to play which means you can play it in rounds if you decide to keep on going. It’s all about asking questions and getting answers as quickly as possible. Making mistakes, breaking rules and repeating questions are the main ways to fall foul of the game. Mistakes can costly in Questions, as drinking penalties can be fixed by players and made as large as you like. Be warned!
Number of Players: Minimum of two, maximum of five
You Will Need: Drinks of your choice and a few friends.
How to Play: Assign one player the role of question-answerer and the other(s) the role of question-asker. The idea is to ask questions that have a yes or a no answer – this allows for fast responses and little-to-no thinking time. Simply follow the rules of the game for asking questions…
Rules of the Game:
This game has good scope for a lot of flexibility with rules. There are some great ones you can add to make playing even more fun and individualistic. Of course, if you are short on time, you might prefer to stick to the classic version, applying the following rules:
YES OR NO ONLY QUESTIONS: The only questions to be asked are those requiring a yes or no answer.
YES OR NO ANSWERS: Similarly, answers should only be yes or no. Drinking penalty of TWO SIPS or TWO SHOTS to any player who answers in other terms than a yes or no.
NO REPEATS: Players asking questions are not to repeat the same questions at any point throughout the game.
ACCIDENTAL REPEAT: Any player repeating a question incurs a drinking penalty of your choice. Perhaps ONE SIP or ONE SHOT depending on what the liquor of choice is for the game.
NO LAUGHING: It’s a strange rule, but it makes playing a lot more fun if you have to struggle to keep a straight face when asking questions or being asked questions! Laughter means drinks – let’s call it TWO SIPS or TWO SHOTS for giggle fits.
NO ASKING QUESTIONS WITHOUT ANSWER QUESTIONS: Fair’s fair. If you want to get your turn to ask, you have to make sure you answer first.
ANSWERING INCORRECTLY: If a player answers yes to a no question, or no to a yes question, PUNISH THEM! Decide how much you want them to drink as a penalty. It could even be as much as THREE SIPS or THREE SHOTS. Depends how merciful or torture-happy you are feeling!
You Lose: If you answer incorrectly or violate too many rules. This means you will have to take the largest number of punishment drinks, meaning you will be pretty drunk by the game’s end. Serves you right for being a cheater!
