Drinking Games A-Z: Frog Jumped into the Pond

Frog jumped into the pond drinking gameFrog Jumped into the Pond is a repetition-based tongue-twister and counting drinking game that is sure to have you laughing just as much as drinking. Try to remember the sentence and the number you are on!

Sip Score: *** (Medium-Sipping game)

Game Description A quick-fire speaking and drinking game that requires repetition, repetition, repetition. The sentence is to be repeated with the number of frogs increased each round i.e. each time every player has said a word in the sentence first. Remembering the order of the words and the number you are on becomes exponentially harder when drunk, when makes its difficulty directly proportionate to its FUN! It can get pretty confusing if it is played quickly, so try to pay attention or you’ll have to take some drinking penalties!

Number of Players:  Minimum of two, but more is better and makes the game harder to play!

You Will Need Copious amounts of drinks and the ability to speak.

How to Play: Get your pals and drinks all together. Sit down in and face each other. Take it in turns to say the phrase “one frog jumped into the pond, plop!” one word at a time, in a clockwise direction. When the sentence is finished the first time, the number of frogs is increased to “two” for the second sentence, then “three,” and “four” etc. Repeat, increasing the number of frogs with each time the sentence is uttered, until someone messes up…

Rules of the Game:

ONE WORD AT A TIME, IN ORDER: The sentence begins as “one frog jumped into the pond, plop.”  The number of frogs will increase each round, by one more. The order of the words must be kept the same. Each player gets to say one word at a time; play then continues with the next person who must say the next word in the sentence.

MORE THAN ONE WORD OR NOT IN CORRECT ORDER: If a player accidentally says more than one word of the sentence or the in the wrong order, that player must TAKE A DRINK! Decide how many sips you want this to be before you start playing. ONE sip is recommended.

WRONG NUMBER OF FROGS: Take a DRINK according to the number you were supposed to say. If you screw up and say two and your number was a three, that’s THREE sips of booze…

WRONG WORDS: If you fluff up the line and say the wrong word DRINK! TWO SIPS as a penalty.

PAUSE OR HESITATION: Players that pause or hesitate when it is their turn to say a word, HAVE TO DRINK as a penalty for being slow and trying to gain an unfair advantage. This is a game that has to be quick-fire, so keep it running fast!

You Lose: If you can’t keep up with how many goddamn frogs there are in this game or remember the running order of the original sentence. You’ll be good and drunk by the end of it, that’s for sure! The loser is the player who is the most drunk and has made the most number of mistakes. By the game’s it, it will be pretty clear who this is!
