How to play the Cops and robbers drinking gameThe Cops and Robbers drinking game is a card-based game that lets players live out their fantasies of being a cop – or a criminal!

Sip Score: ** (Light-sipping game)

Game Description: Cops and Robbers is one of those card drinking games that can get the entire room in an uproar – and drunk!  You get to be a cop or a robber, so be sure to have plenty of beer, and plenty of fun.

Number of Players:  Minimum 6

You Will Need:  A table, a pack of cards and lots of drinks!

How to Play: Sit all of the players facing each other on opposite sides of a table. Assign one player to be the dealer; the dealer should select a number of cards corresponding to the number of players. One card needs to be an ACE and another card needs to be a KING – the rest of the cards can be of the dealer’s choice. When all cards are selected, the dealer distributes the cards randomly between players around the table so that every player has one card, face down so no-one knows who has which cards. The player who gets the KING card will be the COP and the player assigned the ACE will be the ROBBER. The ROBBER must wink at a random player at some point during the game; that random person (the wink recipient) will then state that “the deal has been made.” At this point, the game continues!

Rules of the Game:

After the deal has been made…

IF THE ROBBER GETS CAUGHT WINKING AT THE COP: The robber is busted! The other players have to turn over their cards, and the ROBBER will have to drink sips according to the total sum of numbers on the cards!

THE COP: Holding the KING card, the cop must display his KING card to everyone to show he is the Cop. His mission is to try to guess who is robber is among the group. When he accuses a player, he or she must turn their card over to display it – an ACE shows they are the robber.

IF THE COP GETS IT WRONG: He has to drink the number of drinks that corresponds to the number on the ‘innocent’ robber’s card.

Continue like this until the cop gets it right and selects the genuine robber, whose card will be an ACE when he turns it over.

You Lose: If you are the COP and you do not catch the ROBBER, or if you are the ROBBER and you unknowingly wink at the COP to make the deal and bust yourself in the process.
